Summer is here!

Well, not officially, but I sure can't tell by this weather! If this is any indicator of how Summer 2022 is going to be, it's definitely going to be a HOT one. With that being said, there are a few pieces I like to ensure are in my closet to help me stay cool when having to be out in the heat. Now I will say, when it's like 85 degrees or more, I try not to leave the house until the sun goes down. I love a good sunny day but I'm certainly not a lover of extreme heat.

I think we all know the number one go to, a Maxi dress! Listen, I'd wear one every day of the Summer if I had enough lol. They really don't require any additional styling, just throw on and go, and they're so breathable. Literally the perfect item for a hot summer day. If you do want to add a little flare to your look, throw on a fedora with it, a cute little bag/purse, and you are good to go. Next for me would have to be wide leg pants, preferably linen or any other light fabric. They are very breathable and comfortable, and can be dressed up or down. I like to pair mine with a bodysuit, crop top, or an oversized t-shirt, depending on the look I'm going for. All suitable for a hot day. These too can be worn with a fedora to add some umph. Another item I've grown to love for Summer is baggy, knee length shorts. Ya'll, I got some cotton ones from Forever 21 last Summer and they instantly became my go to. They were so comfortable! Cargo and army fatigue ones also make for a cute, comfortable, breathable look. These can be styled multiple ways and I love seeing how people put their looks together when wearing them. Can definitely be worn with tennis shoes or heels. How ever you're feeling sis, go for it. I have a pair of army fatigue ones that I got from Pac Sun in the men's section YEARS ago and I refuse to throw them away. There are just certain things you hold onto and these shorts are one of them. The last item I'll mention that's a must have for me in the Summer are Midi skirts. Their comfort and breathability match those of a Maxi dress, plus they're super cute. Like the other items, these can be dressed up or down and any hat or shoes, really would work with them.

I didn't make mention of any must haves regarding tops, simply because for me, bodysuits, crops/tanks, and oversized t-shirts are my go to year round. There's a wide range of style with all of these and I've learned to make them work with just about anything. I also won't go into detail around accessories, but I'm sure we all know sunglasses are a must! And yes, you want multiple pairs to be able to compliment the different looks you're going for. Not all sunglasses are meant to be worn with everything, so invest in more than one.

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to show ya'll, I promise to get better. If you have any questions about some of the must haves mentioned or you just want some assistance with putting a look together with these items, please do let me know! As always, thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I hope you all are enjoying the posts as much as I am. Try to stay cool and don't let this heat make you neglect getting cute. 😉
