The days of boring suits and dull colors in the workplace are long over. You do not have to throw on a navy suit to be considered professional if that is not your style. Now if that is what you prefer, then by all means, do not allow me to take that away from you, however, I am here to add some life to the closets of those who prefer livelier "professional" looks. I personally have always had a love for business attire. I recall in Highschool our homecoming looks had to be business wear and I may have been the only one actually excited about it.
I am also someone who considers themself to be stylish and I like that to be reflected no matter what I'm wearing. Whether I'm doing a photoshoot, meeting a client or hosting an Open House, my look has to reflect me. I always say my style is simple, but cute. I like to look as if some thought went into my look but not overdo it. I also like to be comfortable, although that's not always the case with some pieces lol. Whatever your style is, because that's the beauty of style right, it's specific to you, always express that. If you like the navy suit look, try adding a bright top or shoe to bring the look out more. Mix those striped pants with a different patterned top. Buy a patterned or colored blazer, any color other than black or grey (have a black one as a staple though, this can also be styled in a way that expresses you). Add some textured stockings under that black skirt. Mix hues of the same color (my shoes in the last picture above are a royal blue, while my blazer dress is more of a turquoise). Accessorize. Let your earrings, necklace or scarf add that little razzle dazzle you're looking for. There are many small things you can do to make your look stand out more. Keep the details in mind when thinking of these small things.
Above are a few looks from a photoshoot I did. They are professional but still reflect my style. I could not resist those floral pants when I saw them in the store, I literally rethought my looks just so I could wear them. I find joy in putting looks together though and this gave me an excuse to go shopping ;). The pants may be a little bold for some but again, whatever your style is, there are pieces out there that can reflect that and can liven up your wardrobe.
If you need a little help with putting pieces together or want to change your wardrobe altogether, I am here to assist!
