Hey ya'll! So no, I'm not completely out of the space of not desiring real estate, however, I figured if I wrote about it and emersed myself in it somehow, my Realtor desires would come back...possibly. I also don't want to continue not posting on my blog because my desire for that has not left.
There are a lot of things happening in the real estate world right now, one of the more popular things being the announcement made by Bank of America, that they are launching a home loan program that allows first-time home buyers to purchase a home with zero money down and no closing costs, in minority-based neighborhoods in certain cities. Did you know Charlotte is one of the cities? You do now. The other cities include Detroit, LA, Miami and Dallas.
As with any other loan program, I encourage you, your lender and your Realtor to do your due diligence to see if 1, you're eligible for the program and 2, is it actually beneficial for you? There are always stipulations behind any program and if this one doesn't fit your needs, no worries, there are actually many other programs out there for first time home buyers that may benefit you. Some are specific to the area of the home being purchased, income, condition of home, etc. Research different programs and compare the pros and cons to see which two or three best suit you, then consult with your lender, Realtor, and financial advisor on next steps. Ask the banks/credit unions you already have a relationship with about any first-time home buyer programs they offer, then research others. Don't get caught up on the things being advertised and neglect to understand the full details of the program. As I always advise, ASK QUESTIONS! Get a full understanding of your financial situation and make your decision on the programs from there.
If you have further questions or need help with starting your research, please reach out and I'll assist where I can. ☺️
